2002 House Bill 5829

Senate Roll Call 1084: Passed

To expand the “whistleblower” protection given to hospital workers who report to the government a problem in a hospital related to public health, safety or welfare, if they have reported the condition in writing to the facility and given it at least 60 days to fix the problem. Current law protects those who disclose violations of law. The bill would extend this to disclosure of unsafe practices.
