2002 House Bill 5984

House Roll Call 957: Passed

To require members of the clergy to report suspected child abuse to the state Family Independence Agency. "Member of the clergy" is defined as a priest, minister, rabbi, religious practitioner, or similar functionary of a church, temple, or recognized religious denomination or organization; and privileged communications to a member of the clergy acting as in that capacity, and not as a one of the other professions specified in the reporting law, are exempted from the reporting requirements.
