2022 House Bill 6474

Restrict local government restrictions on medical marijuana

Introduced in the House

Nov. 9, 2022

Introduced by Rep. Steve Carra (R-59)

To prohibit local governments from adopting an extensive list of specific restrictions on the medical marijuana industry and use. Among many others, local governments would be prohibited from requiring medical marijuana “caregivers” and users to “register” with local officials, get their permission or approval first, report on their operations, impose their own rules and restrictions on growing marijuana, pay certain taxes, and in general, placing an “undue burden” or subjecting these users and providers to any “condition or…requirement that is not included in the Michigan Medical Marihuana Act”.
