Mandate more insurer reports on mental and physical health services

To require the state health and welfare department, and the medical insurers and provider facilities it contracts with to provide various social and medical welfare benefits, to submit to the legislature, to a state “Behavioral Health Advisory Council,” a state “Medical Care Advisory Council,” and a state “Disabilities Council,” an annual report that “contains the comparative analyses and other information regarding the design and application of nonquantitative treatment limitations that apply to mental health or substance use disorder benefits.” Note: The Michigan legislature has declined <a href=""https://www.michiganvotes.org/SearchLegislation.aspx?Results=50&EndDate=12%2F31%2F2022&StartDate=1%2F1%2F2001&Keywords=mandate+mental+parity&op=Search>many opportunities</a> in recent decades to impose a mandate on health insurance companies requiring them to include full coverage for mental health services in all regular health insurance policies.
