Expand open records law to legislators and governor’s office

To define the records that would be exempt from Freedom of Information Act requests to a public body, and establish appeals procedures for denials of records or excessive fees. Communications with constituents would not be subject to disclosure, along with records containing personal, financial, health, internet use and other information; preliminary and advisory communications within or between legislative bodies other than purely factual matters; records of ongoing legislative investigations and more. The bill would also exempt from disclosure records held by the Republican and Democratic caucuses. Other bills in the package comprised of Senate Bills 233 to 241 establish rules for appeals of record request denials and fees.
