2020 House Bill 6471

Use road tax revenue to subsidize electric car charging stations

Introduced in the House

Dec. 2, 2020

Introduced by Rep. David LaGrand (D-75)

To exempt electric car charging stations from a law that prohibits the state from using road tax dollars to build a service plaza. This would presumably allow spending road tax dollars to install charging stations in rest areas or other areas. House Bill 6473 would create a permanent state “electric vehicle charging” account to hold money to subsidize these in rest areas on limited access highways and park-and-ride commuter lots.
