Expand small forest property tax breaks

To expand the scope of a <a href="http://www.michiganvotes.org/Legislation.aspx?SessionID=80&ChamberLegislationTypeID=1&Number=4320&op=View">2013 law</a> that expanded the eligibility of owners of small forest parcels for property tax breaks. The bill would raise the cap on the total number of acres statewide that can be enrolled in the tax break program from 1.2 million acres to 2.5 million acres, and cut in half the minimum size of properties eligible for the special treatment from 20 acres to 10 acres.
