Extend 9-1-1 cell phone tax

To extend the sunset from Dec. 31, 2006 to Dec. 31, 2008 on the 29-cent cell phone tax that was intended to upgrade 9-1-1 service to accommodate cell phones, extend that tax to pre-paid cell phones, and revise other details of that law. Note: The legislature recently shifted $15 million of this tax revenue to pay for additional government spending in other areas.
