2002 House Bill 6319

Introduced in the House

Sept. 17, 2002

Introduced by Rep. Paul DeWeese (R-67)

To require a physician preparing a death certificate, or who was treating a deceased individual before death, to discuss with the next of kin the option of having an autopsy, including the cost, the medical history information to be gained, and the fact that under some circumstances an autopsy is required by law. If the next of kin agrees to pay for the autopsy, the physician would then be required to arrange for one.
