2001 House Bill 4819 / Public Act 143

Introduced in the House

May 24, 2001

Introduced by Rep. Larry Julian (R-85)

To eliminate the statutory requirement that the commissioner of the Office of Financial and Insurance Services (OFIS) submit an annual report to the legislature with details of OFIS receivership activities pertaining to the liquidation of insolvent insurers. OFIS reports that the report costs $25,000 to $50,000 to prepare, and has little or no utility to the legislature.
