2001 House Bill 4771 / Public Act 164

Introduced in the House

May 15, 2001

Introduced by Rep. Gene DeRossett (R-55)

To make a technical correction updating a law which gives an individual the right to appeal a decision by a local building code enforcement agency to the state. State law requires appeals to be referred to the appropriate state licensing oversight board for a given trade. However, the Board of Mechanical Rules was created after the original referral law, so is not cited in that law as having the authority to review referrals. The bill would give it that authority.
