2021 House Bill 5075

House Roll Call 39: Passed

To revise a 2002 law that authorized a joint legislative committee to inquire into the proposed actions of a state “Certificate of Need” commission and law, which were created in the 1970s to ration the number of medical providers and facilities in the state. The bill would require this committee to meet annually and review the law’s impact on the availability, quality and the cost of medical services in Michigan. Other bills in a legislative package would establish other transparency requirements for this law.
