2021 House Bill 5096

Permit ongoing “virtual” meeting of state housing developer loan subsidy board

Introduced in the House

June 23, 2021

Introduced by Rep. Diana Farrington (R-30)

To permit members of a "Michigan state housing development authority” to meet electronically. The bill would permit this through 2026, not just in epidemics. This state government entity gives taxpayer-backed loan guarantees and subsidies to housing developers and banks; among its various 2019 activities it made loans to developers worth $167.4 million.

Referred to the Committee on Financial Services

Oct. 6, 2021

Reported without amendment

With the recommendation that the substitute (H-3) be adopted and that the bill then pass.
