To require rental boats to get government inspections annually, except for non-motorized canoes, kayaks or rafts, which would be subject to inspection every three years. Under current law, all inspections are required annually. To replace the previous version of the bill with one that eliminates the inspection mandate on non-motorized rental boats.

To eliminate a requirement that rental boats that are non-motorized, including canoes, kayaks or rafts, must get government inspections. The bill would slightly increase the fees for annual rental motorboat inspections, and revise other details of boat rental regulations.

To repeal a recently enacted state land ownership cap (see Senate Bill 248).

To establish that a recently enacted cap on the amount of acres the state can own (see Senate Bill 248) will remain in effect only until the state adopts a “strategic plan” for state land ownership. Also, to clarify that canoes and kayaks longer than 20 feet are included in a recent repeal of inspection mandates on rental canoes and kayaks (see House Bill 5164).
