2021 Senate Bill 635: Add appeals and more reporting requirements to school expulsion policies

To require public schools to engage one or more “independent decision makers” when deciding to expel or suspend a student who has committed an assault against staff or other student. Senate Bill 634 adds appeal provisions and race, class and gender-related reporting requirements to this process.   Official Text and Analysis.
