To require public schools to provide instruction at all grade levels in African-American history, following lesson plans prescribed by a group the bill would authorize consisting of representatives from the University of Michigan's Department of Afroamerican and African Studies, the Michigan State University's Department of African American and African Studies; Wayne State University's Department of African American Studies; the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Michigan conference; the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History; and the Jim Crow Museum at Ferris State University.
