2019 Senate Bill 81

Revise medical marijuana law transport regulations

Introduced in the Senate

Feb. 5, 2019

Introduced by Sen. Pete Lucido (R-8)

To repeal a law that bans transporting medical marijuana in a vehicle unless it is enclosed in a case or is in the vehicle’s trunk and is inaccessible from inside the vehicle. The citizen-initiated law that legalized medical marijuana is silent on transporting it, and a recent court ruling held that a person authorized to use medical marijuana cannot be prosecuted under a different law for transporting it.
