2017 House Bill 4947

Revise telephone solicitation “do not call” list details

Introduced in the House

Sept. 13, 2017

Introduced by Rep. Aaron Miller (R-59)

To repeal provisions of a law regulating commercial solicitations over the telephone that authorized a state “do not call” list. That law referenced a federal do not call list, and the bill would clarify that this is the one that applies. The bill leaves in place a ban on automated or “robocall” commercial solicitations. The law does not apply to political calls including robocalls due to 1st Amendment considerations.
