2013 House Bill 4109

Require current legislators to contribute to future health benefits

Introduced in the House

Jan. 29, 2013

Introduced by Rep. Andrea LaFontaine (R-32)

To require current legislators exempted from the recent repeal of lifetime health insurance benefits granted at age 55 to former legislators (this includes 36 out of 38 Senators and a small handful of current House members) to contribute 5 percent of their salary to prefunding this benefit. The exemptions in the repeal bill were based on the date a lawmaker first took office.
