2011 House Bill 4603

Revise physical therapist licensure mandate

Introduced in the House

April 28, 2011

Introduced by Rep. Margaret O’Brien (R-61)

To revise a detail of a law that imposes a licensure mandate on physical therapists. The bill would revise a requirement that a patient referred to a physical therapist by a physician must be referred back to the same physician if the symptoms are beyond the therapist’s scope of practice. Instead, the therapist would not be prohibited from just to referring the patient to an “appropriate” health care professional.
