2010 Senate Bill 1515: Increase hotel and motel tax

To increase from 2 percent to 5 percent (150 percent) the amount of room tax that can be imposed on hotels and motels by any local convention and tourism marketing bureau. (Certain bureaus are already allowed to levy a 4 percent tax.) Also, to authorize procedures and sanctions for a bureau that fails to provide audited financial statements.   Official Text and Analysis.
