2018 House Bill 5881

Senate Roll Call 1017: Passed

To revise many definitions and details in the law that authorized casinos in Detroit. Among other things the bill would ease restrictions on individuals who committed certain crimes many years earlier getting a “suppliers” license that is required by this law. Casino “suppliers” are defined as vendors or contractors that provide “junket enterprises, security businesses, manufacturers, distributors, persons who service gaming devices or equipment, garbage haulers, maintenance companies, food purveyors, and construction companies.” Also, to add provisions that reflect and accommodate the passage of House Bill 4926, which authorizes internet gambling operations by Detroit and Indian casinos.
