2020 Senate Bill 764

Don’t pay judge charged with crime

Introduced in the Senate

Feb. 4, 2020

Introduced by Sen. Lana Theis (R-22)

To require that if a district court judge is facing criminal charges his or her salary must be held in escrow pending the outcome of a trial. If a judge is convicted of a felony and removed from the bench the escrowed money would revert to the state and county.
