2020 House Bill 6493

Temporarily waive certain health care regulatory restrictions in current epidemic

Introduced in the House

Dec. 2, 2020

Introduced by Rep. Julie Calley (R-87)

To establish that, notwithstanding the usual statutory restrictions and licensure mandates, any employee or volunteer of a health facility or agency may assist with feeding or transporting a patient or resident in accordance with the patient's or resident's plan of care, if instructed to do so by a health professional and if under the supervision of the health professional. This would not apply to an ambulance operation, aircraft transport operation, nontransport prehospital life support operation, or medical first response service. The proposed provision would expire 120 days after it becomes law.
