2020 House Bill 5870

Impose compensation disclosure mandate on corporate subsidy recipients

Introduced in the House

June 18, 2020

Introduced by Rep. Darrin Camilleri (D-23)

To require that corporations and developers chosen to receive selective “economic development” subsidies must disclose the median salary paid by the firm to employees, how much the highest paid employee gets, and the ratio between them. The agency in charge of these subsidies (the “Michigan Strategic Fund”) would be required to post this information on its website in searchable form; see House Bill 5871.
