2015 House Bill 5173

Revise mail-in registration/first-time absentee vote ban

Introduced in the House

Dec. 17, 2015

Introduced by Rep. Kristy Pagan (D-21)

To allow first-time voters to vote absentee if they send in identification that meets a standard specified by federal law with their ballot. Under current law first-time voters who registered by mail must vote in person, so that election officials can confirm they are a real individual.
