To allow a certain legislator who resigns before serving the full six years required under current law to still qualify for the state-paid health insurance granted to former legislators after they reach age 62. The bill applies to a third-term legislator who resigns in November of 2004 to take an elected township office. Rep. Ruth Ann Jamnick has been elected to the Ypsilanti Township supervisor position.
