• Select legislators by checking boxes. Then click to sort by "Selected" at the top of the column. This sort updates the display order and updates the Permalink.
• Please use the following options in this order to avoid errors: "Reverse chambers"; select legislators by checking boxes; click to sort by "Selected" at the top of the column; and "Only selected rows". This will produce a usable Permalink. Copy the Permalink, or or open the hyperlink in a new tab with {Control}{Click} and copy the hyperlink from there.
• Scroll the columns of votes -but keep the names- to view more columns on the right with ">>". That is, the window of columns seen shifts to the right. The skipped columns are added on the far edge. It works best if you select your legislators, then sort by selected. (Note: The scroll may look smaller than expected, if the bills are not aligned.)
• Use narrow columns to squeeze the votes together.
• Align bills across chambers leaves empty spaces so that if, for example, a bill was voted on in both the Senate and House then both votes appear in the same column.
• Checkboxes may be controlled by the URL. Example: https://www.michiganvotes.org/VotingIndex.aspx?ID=887&repeat=false&headings=true&narrow=false&short=false&align=true&rows= The pattern is “[first word of checkbox label]=true” or false. Example: &repeat=false
• A limited number of rows may be controlled by the URL. Example: https://www.michiganvotes.org/VotingIndex.aspx?ID=887&repeat=false&headings=true&narrow=false&short=false&align=true&rows=3
